What is non-alcoholic wine?

Non-alcoholic wine begins as a finished wine which later undergoes a process to remove the alcohol. This process preserves many of the characteristics of traditional wine, including flavor profile, varieties, and substance, while making it less sugary than grape juice

How does Missing Thorn remove the alcohol?

We start with finely crafted, fully fermented wine selected for their strong flavors and ability to withstand the de-alcoholization process. We then use an innovative low temperature vacuum distillation process to remove the alcohol while preserving 100% of the natural aromas, flavors and finish from the original wine. The acidity, sweetness and tastes do change as the alcohol is removed so natural flavors are added to complement the existing flavors of the wine.

How does Missing Thorn compare to regular wine?

To create Missing Thorn, our winemaker, Aaron Pott, uses the same process as he does for his award-winning premiere Napa Valley wines and then uses an alcohol removal technique that he has mastered.

Who might enjoy an alcohol-removed wine like Missing Thorn?

Anyone really! People who are pregnant or taking medication that prohibits alcohol, those who abstain from alcohol for religious and/or cultural reasons, and anyone who is sober-curious or looking for moderation when it comes to alcohol consumption.

How many calories is Missing Thorn per serving?

Our wines contain 30-45 calories per 5 oz serving—significantly less calories than a traditional serving of wine.

How should Missing Thorn be stored?

Missing Thorn should be treated just like regular wine and stored in a cool, dry area where the temperature is between 50-60 degrees. Bottles should be stored on their side and away from sunlight. 

How long does Missing Thorn last?

Upon opening, refrigerate any remaining wine and consume within 3 days.
